Adani Hazira Cuts Speeding with Smart Radar
Manual speed checks failed. AHPL now installed radar and camera units to reduce speeding and improve safety at port roads with 24/7 automated monitoring.
The Client
Adani Hazira Port Ltd. (AHPL) is a leading deep-water port in India handling bulk, break-bulk, petroleum products, chemicals, containers, and automobiles. With strong connectivity to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, AHPL serves as a major international trade hub linking India to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas. The company is part of the globally recognized Adani Group.
The Challenge
AHPL had no reliable way to monitor speeding 24/7 across its internal road network. Manual handheld radar guns required constant manpower, were impractical at night, and failed to detect parallel violations. This posed serious risks in a high-traffic industrial zone where safety is critical.
Traffic Logix and its partner provided AHPL with two SafePlace EV12 radar displays integrated with Guardian cameras and on-premise SDWD3 software. Installed in 2022, this solution offered 24/7 automated speed detection, real-time display for driver awareness, and photographic evidence to support enforcement—all without heavy manpower requirements. Having seen impressive results from previous installations of our solutions within various Adani Group companies, AHPL decided to expand their system.
The Benefits
- Reduction in speeding violations
- Real-time driver awareness through visible speed feedback
- Photographic proof for penalty enforcement
- Less reliance on manpower and manual processes
- Improved safety and data accuracy
- Increased driver compliance over time
- Satisfactory revenue and risk reduction
Real-time speed feedback combined with clear camera evidence dramatically increases compliance and reduces risky behavior. Even in industrial environments, smart enforcement systems can operate reliably and independently, replacing outdated manual checks.
By implementing Traffic Logix radar-camera systems, AHPL took a major step forward in industrial road safety. Building on the success of 8 awareness units installed for an Adani Group company in 2019, this collaboration evolved into a smarter, camera-supported solution for AHPL that automated enforcement and significantly improved compliance. This case showcases how India’s leading ports can adopt simple yet powerful tools to protect workers and streamline operations. AHPL has already recommended the system within the Adani Group—and others should follow.
