Safety on Base
Streets on military bases often see a wide variety of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. How are speeds being monitored to prevent accidents from happening?
For many military bases, the answer to those questions has been found with SafePace radar speed signs. The brightly lit speed digits are a visual reminder to drivers to follow speed laws and slow down. Driver feedback signs have been shown to change driver behaviour as soon as they are installed and to continue their effects even after long periods of time.
Military personnel are used to taking orders and following directions, making the installation of ITS or traffic calming solutions even more likely to succeed than on ordinary roadways.
Alerting Drivers
The SafePace 450 lightweight speed display sign is a popular option on military roads. Available with a compact or full size face plate, the sign offers full size 15” digits with a small footprint. Weighing only around 9 kg, the sign can be seen from up to 1,000 feet away and can create awareness about speed of the approaching vehicle within the base.
